• Washer-Uses a power washer to wash buses.
• Performs cleaning of interior, including removing graffiti, sweeping passenger litter, cleaning windows, and other interior surfaces, etc.
• Fills buses with diesel fuel; also checks engine oil, engine coolant, and transmission fluid levels, topping off as necessary.
• May move buses from a staging area to other areas on compound.

All of these assignments are carried out nightly, regardless of weather conditions.  Employees performing the duties of Washer spend approximately one-half of their workdays outdoors regardless of the weather conditions.


 

High school graduate preferred.  Approximately 1-3 years prior driving experience preferred. 

**Must have valid New York State CDL B drivers’ license with a clean driving record.

This position is responsible for the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.  This includes data entry, verification of hours and totals, check processing, ACH and positive pay transfer and payroll closing vouchers.  The position reports directly to the Benefits and Payroll Manager and may receive general direction from the Director of the People Department.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:  (may perform other duties as required)

• Processes weekly and biweekly payrolls including New York State Disability payments.

• Verifies payroll totals, closes payrolls, and performs post-closing procedures.

• Transmits ACH and Positive Pay Files to the bank.

• Prepares weekly and monthly claim vouchers including taxes, child support orders, garnishments, court orders, etc.

• Assists in the balancing and processing of W2’s.

• Supports the daily operations of the People Department, Payroll Division to include answering phone, filing and general administrative functions.

Must be detail oriented, excellent organizational skills; excellent ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working knowledge of personal computers and basic database management, power point and spreadsheet experience, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work independently and as well as part of a team; ability to arrive at work promptly, regularly and dependably; ability to work late and come in early with prior notification; tact, diplomacy, good knowledge of payroll related procedures and protocols, working knowledge of the Department of Labor Fair Labor Standard Act, working knowledge of New York State Department of Labor Payroll laws and regulations; Working knowledge of Federal and New York State tax laws, ability to keep information confidential.

Must possess a High School Diploma or GED plus Two (2) years payroll experience.
